...that I have a friend who thinks :
1. House is a mediocre series.
2. Masakkali is a horrible song with no tune whatsoever.
3. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is a very good movie with breathtaking acting by Shahrukh Khan.
4. Gunda is an infinitely better watch than certain Ray movies - say, for example, Agantuk.
...and I have still not physically harmed him in any way?

eTa aamiiiiiiiiiii !!!!!!!
ebar ki mojo amake choicest galagal debe?
but he saw the latest episode. season 1 was much better, so i can excuse him for calling house mediocre.
i agree with RNBDJ: it was entertaining.
i have not watched gunda, but i can imagine why someone could LIKE non-Ray cinema. LIKE, mind you, not think that its something SUPERIOR. then
masakkali is mediocre.
you are the epitome of tolerance!
@diviani -
he didn't see the latest episode. he saw numerous episodes from the first season. and said it was mediocre.
masakkali is NOT mediocre. in fact, i think dilli 6 is probably rahman's best work recently.
and even i LIKE Gunda. he thinks its superior to CERTAIN ray movies. something which i flat out refuse to believe.
rab ne was an entertainer no doubt. but it was NOT brilliant. shahrukh was NOT breathtaking. and it was DEFINITELY not better than taare zameen par. the basic premise of the plot was so flimsy, that i felt i felt like i was watching a comedy, when the actors on screen finally dissolved into hysterical tears.
so you see, all my grievances are justified. :P
why am I enjoying all this? :D
what? season 1? UNPARDONABLE.
there are certainly a few screws loose there.
@ bimbo
and there precisely lies the greatness of reb ne bana di jodi.. it makes you laugh and cry at the same time... dhur!! taare zameen paar er 1st half dekha jay.. 2nd half dekha jay na....ppuuuuhhhllllleeeeeeeeezzzzzz
where as rabne bana dei puro ta-i boshe dekha jay.. whether you laugh or cry..
so u see....
REALLY? a movie which can make me laugh and cry is great, no doubt. but i am SURE if i burst into laughter at a particularly poignant part - then that's really not its intention? a good movie is when i laugh WITH it at a place i am SUPPOSED to laugh. it is not when i laugh AT them, at a place i am supposed to CRY!
get the point?
though, never did i deny that 'rab ne..' is a good entertainer. but that's it, basically. the basic plot premise was flimsy, and once you come out of the theatre, nothing lingers.
on the other hand, many people had problems with 'taare zameen par', and i fully appreciate their views. but don't you think you are being EXTREMELY harsh when you say 'boshe dekha jay na..?' come ON! even if the site of aamir khan makes you cringe (!!!!), shudhu darsheel safaryr jonnoi cinemata ponchash baar boshe dekha jay.
p.s. i think where shahrukh and aamir are concerned, we will have to agree to disagree. i do not hate shahrukh, but i refuse to go gaga over some strange brainless entertainer just because it has him in it. and as for you, i think you hate aamir alright. :P
ooof!who IS this man?mairi.emontai hoye jabo ebar.ki hobe ray'ke eto valorise kore?ek cup cha'o toh khete dilona...
1. It has become tiresome. It was crunchy during first season. Now I feel a little bad for Hugh Laurie, he made some comments once about being trapped in that series for various reasons...
2. I just heard Masakkali the other day on a loooong auto ride. It was a lot of fun. Who sang it?
